Awal Vintage Moroccan Rug | 3’2” x 5’10"

Hand-knotted in Morocco 30-40 years ago using traditional Amazigh weaving techniques, Awal is a one-of-a-kind vintage wool rug with an expressive, free-form composition.

A softly faded field of red, rose, and coral is animated by raised geometric motifs in cobalt blue, turquoise, peach, golden yellow, ivory, and black. Rather than following a strict repeat, the shapes appear intuitively across the surface, giving the rug the energy of an abstract painting.

Irregular patterned borders frame the composition, while visible changes in color and texture preserve the individual rhythm of Awal’s maker. Its combination of saturated color and spontaneous geometry feels both deeply rooted in Moroccan textile traditions and strikingly contemporary.
