Hand-knotted in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains 20–30 years ago, Arthur is a one-of-a-kind vintage wool rug distinguished by its nearly square shape and richly detailed geometric composition.
Rows of diamond motifs unfold across a warm field of brick red, rust, and terracotta. Accents of cream, golden brown, charcoal, and muted gray create contrast, while patterned side panels and irregular vertical lines give the design an expressive, hand-drawn quality.
The saturated red palette and free-form geometry recall the visual traditions associated with Boujad rugs of central Morocco, although Arthur’s exact village of origin is not documented. Variations throughout the weave preserve the individual rhythm and creative decisions of its Amazigh maker.
Measuring 5'10" x 6'6", Arthur’s uncommon proportions work beautifully beneath a round dining table, in a compact seating area, beside a bed, or as a statement piece in an entryway or home office.
