Skinny Elm Wood Bench
Long, slim and only 5 to 6 inches deep, the Skinny Elm Wood Bench is handcrafted from solid reclaimed elm. Its simple frame, with splayed legs and crossed stretchers, follows the traditional Chinese bench often called a noodle bench, and the natural finish lets the grain, knots and weathered surface of the old wood show through.
That narrow profile fits where most furniture can't. Place it in a tight entryway or hallway, at the end of a bed, behind a sofa or along a bare wall. Use it as a seat, a landing spot for a bag, a plant stand, or a low console for books and ceramics. It comes in three lengths, from 44 to 56 inches.
Craftsmanship
Each bench is built by hand from reclaimed elm, so no two are exactly alike. Expect natural variation in color, grain and texture, along with knots, small checks, peg holes and the marks of the wood's earlier life. Because every piece is handmade, dimensions vary slightly from bench to bench.
Care
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe up spills right away. Avoid harsh cleaners and standing water, and keep the bench away from heating vents and strong direct sun.
